The commander of Metropolitan Police Region 1 signed an order transferring five senior officers from Huai Khwang Police Station, from the station chief to inspectors, to serve at the operational center of Metropolitan Police Region 1. On 30 August, Police Major General Worasak Phisitbanakorn, commander of Metropolitan Police Region 1, signed order No. 188/2569 dated 29 August 2026, appointing a fact-finding committee. To ensure a smooth investigation, under section 68 of the 2022 National Police Act and the National Police Office regulations on assigning officers within the police force in 2023, police officers are ordered to perform duties as replacements within Metropolitan Police Region 1. Accordingly, Police Colonel Sorsak Thongmee, chief of Huai Khwang Police Station, is assigned to serve at the operational center of Metropolitan Police Region 1; Police Lieutenant Colonel Ekkarat Malawanno, deputy chief of operations at Huai Khwang Police Station, also serves at the center; Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanet Srichampa, deputy chief of investigations, Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanawat Kamontham, patrol chief, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Akkaraj Wanchaeng, chief investigator at Huai Khwang Police Station, are all reassigned to the operational center of Metropolitan Police Region 1.
Police Colonel Kampol Rattanaprateep, deputy commander of Metropolitan Police Region 1, has been assigned as acting chief of Huai Khwang Police Station and will consider assigning officers from Huai Khwang Police Station to fill any vacancies appropriately.
This order is effective immediately and will remain in force until further notice.
Reports indicate that this case stems from the joint operation by the Deputy Ministers of Interior (MoI 2 and MoI 4), who coordinated with a special operations team from the Department of Provincial Administration and police officers from Huai Khwang Police Station to raid and arrest operators of the Chinese nightclub “577 CLUB.” The club, funded by Chinese investors and using a Chinese payment app, was found operating illegally without a license and in possession of a quantity of drugs.
