Amnat Charoen — Police from Chanuman Police Station joined forces to intercept a large shipment of over 4 million methamphetamine pills while entering the inner area, using the route between Ban Hin Siw and Ban Na Yang in Chanuman Subdistrict, Amnat Charoen Province.
On 30 August 2026 in Amnat Charoen, reporters reported that just after midnight on 29 August 2026, investigators from Chanuman Police Station collaborated with local administrative authorities and military personnel to seize a large shipment of 10 sacks of methamphetamine pills—approximately 4 million tablets valued at about 200 million baht—along the route from Ban Hin Siw to Ban Na Yang in Chanuman Subdistrict, Amnat Charoen District, Amnat Charoen Province.
Lt. Col. Komsan Kamwan, head of the investigation unit at Chanuman Police Station, told reporters that officials received a tip from an informant about drug trafficking moving from Chanuman District, Amnat Charoen, into the inner areas via the route between Ban Hin Siw and Ban Na Yang in Chanuman Subdistrict. The traffickers were reportedly using a van registered in Bangkok to transport the methamphetamine. This information was reported to Police Colonel Chotinarin Suphawarat, chief of Chanuman Police Station, who then planned an interception at the notified locations.
Regarding the arrest, after confirming the information, Lt. Col. Komsan ordered the investigation unit to deploy officers to ambush along the specified road. When a van matching the informant’s description drove from Ban Hin Siw toward Ban Na Yang, officers signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection. The driver attempted to flee, prompting officers to pursue closely until they intercepted the van and apprehended the driver, Mr. Kriangkrai (surname withheld).
A search inside the van revealed 10 black sacks wrapped in plastic bags containing over 4 million methamphetamine pills valued at approximately 200 million baht. Officials arrested the suspect and charged him with illegal possession and distribution of Category 1 drugs (methamphetamine) without authorization, involving commercial intent and causing widespread distribution among the public. The suspect and all evidence were handed over to Chanuman Police Station investigators for prosecution and further investigation to identify accomplices.
