Stepfather Arrested for Raping 15-Year-Old Stepdaughter, Threatening to Kill Entire Family

Police raided a residence in Pathum Thani to arrest a stepfather who raped his stepdaughter since she was 15. Upon learning she was seeing someone in university, he became extremely possessive and threatened to harm her. When the mother intervened, he threatened to kill the entire family.

At 10:30 a.m. on 31 Aug 2026, representatives from the Pen Nueng Foundation and officials from the Pathum Thani Department of Social Development and Human Security (DSDHS) visited Khu Khot Police Station to assist Ms. B (a pseudonym), 19, and her mother, the victims, after the family endured prolonged sexual abuse, physical assault, and threats by the stepfather.

Ms. B's mother revealed the abuse began in December 2023 when the stepfather secretly entered her eldest daughter's bedroom, then took her downstairs near the bathroom and sexually abused her for two consecutive days. It is suspected he slipped some substance into a beef bone broth, causing the mother and daughter to lose consciousness. About two months later, the daughter confided the truth to her mother, who reported the case to Khu Khot Police. However, the stepfather later pleaded for mercy, citing pity for their newborn younger child, and the daughter was intimidated into telling a multidisciplinary team it was a misunderstanding, causing the case to stall.

However, after resuming cohabitation, the stepfather's behavior worsened, exerting strict control over the daughter, forcing her to report her whereabouts constantly and attempting to check her phone. In 2026, jealous upon learning she had a boyfriend at university, he physically assaulted both the daughter and the mother, who tried to intervene. He brandished a knife and threatened to shoot the entire family if the old case was reopened. Unable to endure this, the mother fled with her daughter about 10 days ago for their safety.

Additionally, the mother disclosed the stepfather's abnormal behavior: his first wife was only 13 when he was 24, and he frequently viewed child-related pornography. Although the house is under the mother's name, it was purchased with cash from the stepfather, who claimed profits from cryptocurrency investments. The mother affirmed her determination to pursue the case to the fullest extent.

Ms. Ton O, a representative of the Pen Nueng Foundation, stated this is a criminal case that cannot be settled out of court. She accompanied the victims to follow up on progress, as they remain heavily threatened and traumatized. It was discovered the stepfather had secretly installed an app to track the daughter's movements constantly and once confronted her boyfriend at a shopping mall in Rangsit. They sought guidance from police on how to proceed to ensure the victims' protection.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Prasit Sombunjit, Deputy Investigation Chief of Khu Khot Police Station, updated that the case had previously stalled because the victim gave false testimony to a multidisciplinary team, claiming it was a misunderstanding. Upon learning she had been intimidated, police plan to assign a female investigator to re-interview her thoroughly to ensure justice and gather more evidence. The case has not expired as the victim is a minor, and authorities are prepared to proceed strictly according to law.

Recently, Khu Khot police investigation officers conducted a search at a residence in Pathum Thani following reports of firearms. Upon arrival, no response was heard when calling from outside, so officers climbed the fence to investigate. They found Mr. Pathompong, 39, the accused stepfather, hiding inside and immediately took him into custody for further questioning at Khu Khot Police Station.
