Police combined forces to arrest a key suspect wanted by a U.S. court on multiple charges of child sexual abuse, who was hiding at Nai Yang Beach, Phuket Province.
On 31 August 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Songprod Sirisukkha, Commander of Immigration Division 3, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chotiwat Luangwilai, Commander of the Metropolitan Police Division, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum, Commander of Phuket Provincial Police, ordered Pol. Col. Suriya Puangsombat, Chief of Investigation Division, Immigration Division 3, along with investigation teams from Immigration Division 3, Metropolitan Police, and Sakoo Police Station, to arrest Mr. Lance Michael Beck, 48, an American national and key suspect wanted by a U.S. court on child sexual abuse charges.
This arrest followed coordination from the Royal Thai Police with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist in locating and apprehending Mr. Lance Michael Beck, who is wanted under eight U.S. warrants—seven from the state of Alabama and one federal warrant—all related to child sexual assault.
The charges include sexual torture, rape, human trafficking, facilitating travel of a child for unlawful sexual acts, sexual abuse, and incest. The suspect allegedly abused children under 14 years old and recorded videos before fleeing to hide in Thailand.
Investigations revealed that Mr. Lance Michael Beck entered Thailand on 29 August on a tourist visa and stayed at a luxury resort in Nai Yang Beach, Sakoo Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. Authorities arrested him there, immediately revoked his permission to stay in Thailand, and are preparing to extradite him to U.S. authorities for legal proceedings.
