The 78th anniversary of the Crime Suppression Division was marked by lively participation from former commanders, who remain committed to continuing the ideal of being a police force trusted by the public, leading crime suppression efforts for social safety.
At 07:30 on 1 Sep 2026 at the Crime Suppression Division headquarters, Police Major General Phatthanasak Bupphasuwan, the division chief, presided over the 78th anniversary celebration, attended by deputy commanders, commanders of units 1-6, and affiliated staff officers.
The morning program included paying respects to the Phra Phutthaphithak Thammanamchai Buddha image, the spirit house, ancestral shrines, and other sacred objects of the Central Investigation Police Headquarters, followed by a Buddhist ceremony and presentation of awards to officers within the division.
The event also featured a Khon dance performance of “Hanuman Battles the Sahasakumara” (pronounced Sa-hat-sa-ku-man), which inspired the naming of the special operations unit “Hanuman Crime Suppression.”
The ceremony was attended by former commanders such as Police Generals Adul Sangsingkeo, Aswin Kwanmuang, Chakthip Chaijitda, Kornchai Klaiklueng (Deputy Commissioner of Police), Police Major Generals Surasit Sangkhapong, Prayont La-suea, Police Lieutenant General Jirapop Phuridej (Assistant Commissioner of Police), Police Lieutenant General Nathsak Chawanasai (Chief of the Special Operations Division), Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom (Chief of Metropolitan Police Division), and Police Major General Thinkorn Rangmat (Deputy Chief of the Special Operations Command).
