Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotiksethien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, thanked the media for scrutinizing police work even late at night. He ordered an investigation with a three-day deadline to determine what happened at Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station regarding officers sleeping throughout the station, and to identify any officer who was negligent or used inappropriate language.
At 10:30 a.m. on 2 September 2026, following reports that a good Samaritan volunteered to bring a homeless woman to the police station but found officers sleeping throughout, and when attempting to wake them was met with scolding and shouting, as previously reported.
Recently, Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotiksethien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, expressed gratitude to the media for helping inspect police conduct. He stated that he has consistently emphasized to all officers the importance of readiness to perform their duties. He noted that while officers at Muang Pathum Thani Police Station were ready to respond to the good Samaritan, it remains unclear why the incident seen in the video occurred at Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station.
He has ordered a thorough fact-finding investigation to be completed within three days, since the video does not show the moment the good Samaritan entered the station. He instructed the Lat Lum Kaeo Police Chief to summon the good Samaritan for further testimony to verify what happened and which officers were on duty. If any negligence or inappropriate language is found, strict disciplinary action will follow.
He affirmed that fairness will be ensured for both parties. Additionally, he reminded all police stations to maintain readiness to perform their duties and assist the public around the clock.
Meanwhile, Pol. Col. Wiwat Asawawiboon, Chief of Muang Pathum Thani Police Station, clarified that the woman brought in by the good Samaritan was not under the influence of drugs. Regarding another woman with mental health issues, authorities have coordinated with relevant agencies to take over her care. At the same time, legal charges have been filed against the woman found with drugs, in accordance with the law.
