Today, 2 Sep 2026 GMT+7, at the Royal Thai Police headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police and spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, provided an update on efforts to track Worayuth, or Boss, Yoovidhya, the suspect in the case of reckless driving causing the death of Police Corporal Wichian Klinprasert of Thonglor Police Station on 3 Sep 2012, who fled abroad. He stated that the Royal Thai Police’s Foreign Affairs Division has submitted information to Interpol, resulting in a Red Notice. Upon checking, the Red Notice for Worayuth remains active. Police officers in member countries can access the Interpol system to assist in tracking him or coordinate for his apprehension.
Regarding why Worayuth's Red Notice does not appear on Interpol’s public website, Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong explained that Interpol displays information in two ways: some data is made publicly accessible after review, while certain information—especially Red Notices for specific suspects—is kept in a closed system accessible only to law enforcement officers within Interpol’s member network, to facilitate coordination and investigations.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong affirmed that the police are serious about pursuing Worayuth, maintaining ongoing coordination and data sharing with various countries. Especially if it is known that the suspect may reside in a particular target or destination country, information is sent to request cooperation under the Red Notice. However, if the suspect is in any country, it is the responsibility of that country’s police, as part of the Interpol network, to act according to the agreed cooperative procedures.
The police spokesperson added that Worayuth still has an outstanding warrant for reckless driving causing death, with the statute of limitations expiring on 3 Sep 2027.
