Authorities expanded their investigation of a drug gang before raiding a large shipment of 500 kilograms of ice hidden in bitter melon boxes, fully packed inside a covered pickup truck at a house in Nonthaburi, with an estimated value of about 100 million baht.
At 00:15 on 3 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant Colonel Prasopsin Phimmilai, investigating officer at Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Nonthaburi Province, received a report that a house in Phimonrat Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi, was hiding 500 kilograms of Category 1 narcotics (ice or methamphetamine).
Following joint efforts by police and military intelligence officers from the Special Warfare Command Operations Center (SWC) and the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, investigations led to identifying a suspect driving a white Isuzu D-Max pickup with Bangkok license plates parked inside the alley near the house. The suspect was later identified as Thanadej Panyethanakan.
A search uncovered approximately 500 kilograms of ice worth about 100 million baht, packed inside orange tea bags stamped with Chinese characters. These were placed within 56 cardboard boxes containing bitter melon, located in the living room of the house. The suspect and the seized items were taken to Bang Bua Thong Police Station to proceed with legal action.
