Somchai Srisuthiyakorn confirms he will not settle and will pursue legal action to the fullest extent after being pushed and falling off his bicycle by Nattawut in front of Thonglor Police Station.
On 4 Sep 2026, Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, former member of the Election Commission, spoke after being assaulted by Nattawut Wongniam, stating that he came by bicycle to file a complaint against Nattawut, who arrived before the scheduled time.
Somchai recounted the incident in front of Thonglor Police Station, saying that upon arrival he saw Nattawut dressed in a suit standing there. Somchai smiled and greeted him as usual, but Nattawut suddenly approached angrily and verbally abused him with coarse language.
While Somchai was still on his bicycle, Nattawut pushed it, causing him to fall backward onto the ground. Then Nattawut approached, shouted insults, pointed his finger, and acted threateningly. The entire event occurred before at least two police officers and reporters from at least four media outlets who recorded both images and sound.
After Somchai got up and asked the police to intervene to prevent further disturbance, Nattawut grabbed his hat off his head. This behavior constituted an offense against property, and Somchai also sustained two abrasions on his leg. The extent of damage to the bicycle is still being assessed.
Somchai added that he will consult his personal lawyer to file additional charges against Nattawut for assault causing injury and property damage, as well as consider opposing bail. Regarding the bullying and sexual slurs he experienced, he will discuss with his lawyer what additional charges may apply.
He views this behavior as intended to intimidate and instill fear, aiming to stop his activism. Moreover, it was an impulsive act committed at a government office and in front of police officers.
Nevertheless, he asks the public to judge based on the media’s photo and audio evidence. He confirms he will pursue the case to the end without settling, hoping this case serves as a lesson and that he will be the last person to experience such an incident.
