Police set up an ambush before arresting "Man," the owner of a durian warehouse in Chanthaburi, accused of sexually abusing employees and abducting a minor under a court warrant. He was taken in for questioning before legal action.
On 4 September 2026, reporters learned that the Chanthaburi Provincial Police, led by Pol. Maj. Gen. Phadungsak Raksasuk, Commander of Chanthaburi Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Akkapon Suntharwipat, Deputy Commander, and Pol. Col. Seksan Sripert, Chief of Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station, ordered the special operations unit to intercept and arrest a suspect under an important warrant, the owner of a durian warehouse in the area.
This follows victims' complaints about the durian warehouse owner sexually abusing employees, with multiple victims coming forward. On 28 August 2026, one victim filed a formal complaint at Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station to initiate legal proceedings.
Investigators quickly gathered evidence and petitioned Chanthaburi Provincial Court, which on 4 September 2026 issued warrant number 170/2569 for Mr. Phairoj, or "Man," on charges of abducting a minor over 15 but under 18 from parents, guardians, or caretakers without consent, and taking that person for immoral purposes.
After the court issued the warrant, Mr. Phairoj attempted to flee the area to avoid police pursuit.
Around 11:00 a.m. today, the arrest team received a tip from an informant that the suspect was hiding in a village in Ko Khwang Subdistrict, Mueang Chanthaburi District, Chanthaburi Province. They conducted surveillance and found Mr. Phairoj walking on a public road in front of the village. Officers identified themselves and read the warrant to him. He admitted being the person named in the warrant and said he had never been arrested for this case before. He was taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station to proceed with legal action. The Chanthaburi Provincial Police confirmed they will enforce the law strictly and fairly to ensure public confidence and safety.
