Anti-Trafficking Police arrested a major sex trafficking broker operating under the account "Yod The Kids," linked to over 50 underage female victims. The suspect was previously apprehended in 2022 during a crackdown on a child pornography distribution network related to child exploitation.
On 5 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Natsak Chawanasai, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Wittaya Sriprasertphap, Commander of the Anti-Trafficking Police Division, and Pol. Lt. Col. Chaikrit Thipwongsa, Investigator of Division 1, to arrest Sarun Sonphet, aka Yod, 38, from Samut Prakan Province, under Phra Khanong Criminal Court warrant No. J.839/2569 dated 27 Aug 2026 GMT+7. Charges include human trafficking; procuring, enticing, or leading a person to engage in prostitution even with consent; aiding, facilitating, or protecting prostitution; receiving benefits from prostitution; and abducting minors aged over 15 but under 18 from guardians for profit or indecent purposes, even if the minor consents, constituting exploitation.
Authorities also seized the social media account "Yod The Kids," used to offer child sexual services, photographs of minors holding signs with "Yod The Kids" to verify their association, review messages, evidence of service offers, payment transactions, bank accounts, and mobile phones.
This arrest followed investigations by Division 1, Anti-Trafficking Police, tracing a network procuring minors under 18 for prostitution via online channels. They discovered a LINE application account under the alias "Yod The Kids" acting as a broker for underage prostitution, boldly stating, "I will never disappear from the sex trade." Officers infiltrated the group by registering as members.
Investigations revealed that Sarun contacted girls under 18 through two main channels: social media and by befriending girls living near his residence in Soi Dan Samrong. Sarun has a sexual preference for minors and lured victims with the phrase, "There’s work that pays, interested?" Once the girls were interested, he disclosed it was sex work, then arranged meetings to agree on fees and conditions. He would then share their information, photos, and reviews in private groups, requiring girls to hold signs reading "Yod The Kids" as proof of their network membership, detailing their names, body measurements, fees, restrictions, and locations, explicitly noting they were under 18.
For offering sexual services, Sarun charged clients a referral fee separate from the girls’ fees: 500 baht for introducing one person per time, 1,000 baht for three people, and 1,500 baht for unlimited introductions and times. The girls’ fees averaged 3,000–5,000 baht per session.
Examinations found that Sarun continuously advertised these services on multiple social media platforms. Investigators identified several underage girls in his network, including a 17-year-old girl whom Sarun contacted, introduced to prostitution, and referred to clients. Investigators collected evidence and obtained the arrest warrant before apprehending him.
During interrogation, Sarun confessed to having a sexual preference for minors, consistently selecting young victims. He admitted to referring around 50 girls. He was transferred to Division 1, Anti-Trafficking Police, for further legal proceedings.
Records show Sarun was previously arrested by Division 1, Anti-Trafficking Police, on 11 Jan 2022 during a crackdown on a child pornography distribution network. Authorities found numerous child pornography files on his computer. Sarun admitted to receiving a 500 baht commission per transaction for distributing such material.
The court sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment for importing and distributing obscene content through computer systems for commercial purposes, with a two-year suspended sentence. However, he reoffended with more severe crimes this time.
