The investigative team of Hat Yai Police Station swiftly arrested a 28-year-old woman who used a blank gun to rob a convenience store in downtown Hat Yai. She confessed, stating she was stressed due to unemployment, debt, and a recent breakup.
At 05:20 today (7 Sep 2026), a lone suspect used a firearm to rob a convenience store at the Samchai branch, Soi 1, Samchai Road, within Hat Yai municipality, Songkhla Province.
Initial descriptions of the suspect: wearing a full-face helmet, gloves, and a black jacket, carrying a backpack, riding a black Honda PCX motorcycle without license plates, parked in front of the store, then entered and pulled out a gun to threaten the sole male employee at the counter.
The suspect forced the employee to take cash from three cash registers totaling 5,315 baht and three bottles of imported liquor, with the total stolen property valued at about 11,000 baht, then fled on the motorcycle.
After the incident, the investigative and crime suppression units of Hat Yai Police Station patrolled along the suspected escape routes to track the suspect.
At 11:00 the same day, officers spotted a person and motorcycle matching the suspect’s description near the entrance of Pasawang Road in Hat Yai city. They stopped and searched her, then brought her in for questioning, where she confessed to the robbery.
The suspect is Ms. Kuruscheela, 28, from Satun Province, with the black Honda PCX motorcycle, license plate 2กง-8612 Songkhla. A search of her rented room recovered all the stolen cash and liquor, as well as a blank gun loaded with five rounds.
Then, Pol. Col. Phakin Na Ranong, Deputy Commander of Songkhla Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Macha Kaewthong, Chief of Hat Yai Police Station, Pol. Lt. Col. Chanawin Rattanawin, Deputy Chief of Investigation, and Pol. Lt. Col. Theerapong Wichit, Investigation Officer, along with Operation Team 3, took her to reenact the crime scene where she cooperated fully and explained all the steps of the offense.
Regarding her motive, Pol. Col. Phakin Na Ranong revealed that during interrogation, the suspect admitted she was unemployed, in debt, and had recently broken up with her boyfriend. She was stressed and had called her parents for money but was refused, leading her to decide to rob the convenience store.
She was initially charged with nighttime robbery using violence and employing a vehicle to commit and escape the crime, and legal proceedings will continue.
