An ex-husband has surrendered after shooting dead two people—his former wife and her new partner—inside Sai Ngam Temple. The suspect's aunt revealed he had been in a relationship with the woman for over 10 years and they had two children. Police are urgently searching for the firearm and examining evidence related to the case.
The shooting occurred inside Sai Ngam Temple, Village 1, Sena Subdistrict, Uthai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, on the evening of 7 Sep 2026. Mr. Anek, 44, was shot dead inside a pickup truck, while Ms. Supawinee, 44, was seriously wounded and later died at Uthai Hospital, bringing the death toll to two.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a bus driver transporting workers witnessed the incident. The bus had picked up workers from Wang Noi District, and Ms. Supawinee was the last passenger before the bus parked inside Sai Ngam Temple. She then got off and headed toward a pickup truck parked near the pavilion.
At that moment, another pickup truck arrived and blocked the front. A man got out carrying a firearm and fired multiple shots at Ms. Supawinee as she was about to enter the vehicle, critically wounding her and causing her to collapse beside the truck door. The assailant then turned and shot Mr. Anek, who was seated inside the vehicle, killing him before fleeing the scene.
Pol. Col. Manat Addodorn, Superintendent of Uthai Police Station, disclosed that after the incident, officers quickly examined the scene and interviewed witnesses. They have identified the suspect, believed to be Ms. Supawinee’s former boyfriend, who reportedly followed her from the factory to the temple before committing the shooting.
Tragically, after shooting Ms. Supawinee and Mr. Anek, the perpetrator took photos of the incident and sent them to the female victim's relatives before driving away.
A few hours after the crime, Mr. Nattawut, or “Ex”, 40, was brought by relatives to surrender to police at Sao Hai Police Station in Saraburi Province. Investigators from Uthai Police Station then traveled to take custody of him for questioning and legal procedures.
At 23:30 on 7 Sep 2026, the suspect arrived at Uthai Police Station, where Pol. Col. Poomthat Khositwanichpong, Deputy Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, and Pol. Col. Manat Addodorn, Superintendent of Uthai Police, jointly interrogated Mr. Nattawut.
Forensic officers collected scientific evidence from the suspect, including fingerprinting, DNA samples, and tests for gunpowder residue on both hands to compare with evidence found at the crime scene.
Regarding the firearm used, the suspect admitted to discarding it while fleeing. Police are preparing to search the area for the weapon to include it as evidence in the case file.
The suspect’s aunt revealed that her nephew had been in a relationship with Ms. Supawinee for over 10 years, and they had two children together before recently separating. She said she was unaware of any issues in their relationship.
She added that she was shocked when her nephew told her he had shot his ex-wife and another man. She then advised him to return home in Saraburi Province and accompanied him to surrender to police to face legal processes.
Meanwhile, Uthai Hospital reported to police that Ms. Supawinee, 44, who was injured in the shooting, died at the hospital after sustaining severe gunshot wounds. Following the report of her death, police coordinated with Ruamkatanyu Foundation to transfer both deceased bodies to the Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice, in Pathum Thani Province, for autopsy and evidence examination related to the case.
Police are continuing to investigate the suspect, gather evidence, examine escape routes, and urgently search for the firearm used to build the case and proceed with legal action.
