At 06:00 on 10 Sep 2026, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), under the Crime Suppression Division, deployed forces to carry out an arrest. "Phra Wachirayan Wiset" , also known as "Luang Por Atichot Thammavaro" aged 66, abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan, a royal monastery in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, was arrested at his temple quarters under an arrest warrant No. 29/2569 issued on 8 Sep 2026 by the Central Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 1.
