Crime Suppression Police raided the home of 'Si Ka Ae', a close associate of former Luang Pho Atichote, seizing 90 baht of gold, 3.5 million baht in cash, as well as other assets including land deeds and numerous investment documents. The haul was extensive.
On 10 September 2026, updates followed the Crime Suppression Division's arrest of "Phra Wachirayan Wi." or Luang Pho Atichote, the abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan Royal Monastery in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He was charged with embezzling over 92 million baht from the temple and transferring the funds to his close associate Si Ka Ae, with solid evidence also showing him engaging in illicit sexual acts in his quarters, as previously reported.
Later, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ruangwit Duangjinda, Investigation Officer of Division 1, Crime Suppression Division, led a team to search a house in Village 1, Klong Si Subdistrict, Klong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province. The residence belonged to Ms. Punyavee Rungrueng, known as Si Ka Ae, age 47, who is wanted under the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct in Office warrant number 30/2569 dated 8 September 2026.
She was charged with "supporting a public official who, in their duty to purchase, manage, or safeguard property, embezzled it for themselves or others through corruption; supporting officials in wrongful or neglected duties causing harm; aiding state officials in abusing their position to cause damage; and conspiring with two or more persons to commit money laundering. They committed money laundering due to this conspiracy and jointly participated in the offense."
The search yielded 35 gold amulets, gold bars and jewelry totaling 90 baht, valued at 6,037,470 baht, 3,592,300 baht in cash, three mobile phones, one iPad, 10 land and account documents, two land deeds, seven bank books, one land sale contract, 18 investment documents, one health insurance policy, six gold insurance certificates, seven gold purchase-sale receipts, and four government savings bonds.
Additionally, police searched another house in Village 1, Klong Si Subdistrict, Klong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, but found no items to seize.
