On 10 Sep 2026 GMT+7, updates emerged regarding the Crime Suppression Division's arrest of "Phra Wachirayan Wi." or Luang Pho Atichot, abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan Royal Monastery in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, for embezzling over 92 million baht from the temple and transferring funds to a close associate, Sika Ae, with strong evidence including being caught committing adultery in the monk's quarters, as previously reported.
Subsequently, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ruangwit Duangjinda, Inspector of Division 1, Crime Suppression Division, led a raid on a residence in Village 1, Khlong Si Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, belonging to Ms. Punyavee Rungreung, also known as Sika Ae, 47, a suspect wanted under the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Case No. 30/2569 dated 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7.
"Supporting an official responsible for purchasing, managing, or safeguarding assets by fraudulently appropriating such assets for oneself or others; supporting officials in misconduct or neglect of duty causing damage to others; supporting state officials abusing their position or authority improperly to cause harm to others; conspiring between two or more persons to commit offenses of money laundering; and committing money laundering offenses due to such conspiracy."
