Police raided a resort in the Ram Inthra area and arrested a suspect involved in stealing more than 1.1 million baht from the Talad Thai bank branch. The suspect is under investigation and was previously involved in a 16-million-baht armored truck robbery, having been released from prison in 2022.
In the case where an armed suspect robbed the TMBThanachart Bank Talad Thai branch in Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, the bank found the stolen amount totaled 1,176,239.08 baht. The suspect then burned the vehicle used in the crime to destroy evidence, as previously reported.
Update at 15:30 on 11 Sep 2026: Police Lieutenant General Watthana Yijin, Commander of Provincial Police Region 1, along with Police Major General Worachat Saenkham, Chief of the Investigation Division, and other senior officers, led a team to arrest Mr. Saifa Thanatechwarakul, 54, from Uthai Thani Province. They seized approximately 3,000 baht in cash and a white Toyota sedan registered in Bangkok. The arrest took place at a resort on Ratchada-Ram Inthra Road, Kannyaw Subdistrict, Kannyaw District, Bangkok.
On 10 Sep 2026, a lone suspect robbed the TMBThanachart Bank Talad Thai branch in Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, stealing over 1 million baht. Following the incident, Provincial Police Region 1 investigators identified the suspect as Mr. Saifa Thanatechwarakul, also known as Saifa Kasemuti, 54, and proceeded to arrest him.
During initial questioning, Mr. Saifa confessed to the bank robbery at the Talad Thai branch, admitting he took over 1 million baht. After the robbery, he burned the vehicle used, which caused burns to his left arm. He stated he had used all the stolen money to pay gambling debts, keeping only a small amount before being apprehended by police.
Record checks revealed that Mr. Saifa, along with Mr. Weerachat Charoenchaiwat, committed an armored truck robbery of Bangkok Surveyor Company at the Lotus parking lot, Bang Pa-In branch, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, on 17 Sep 2012, stealing nearly 16 million baht. The same police unit that arrested him this time had captured him then. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and released in 2022 before committing this recent offense.
After arrest, the suspect was taken to Khlong Luang Police Station in Pathum Thani Province for prosecution.
At 19:00, the arrest team brought Mr. Saifa to Khlong Luang Police Station, where Police Colonel Wisnurook Prommet, Deputy Chief of Pathum Thani Provincial Police and acting chief of Khlong Luang Police Station, awaited to interrogate him before transferring the suspect to the investigation room.
During preliminary questioning, the suspect admitted to committing the robbery. When asked about the whereabouts and use of the stolen money, he said he was in debt and had spent all the money repaying those debts, giving some to his daughter. He also admitted to pouring fuel on the car he burned, which caused the fire that burned his arm and face. He declined to provide further details.
