Police have granted temporary release for two DSI officials accused of involvement in a local civil service exam corruption ring after they used their official positions as bail guarantees. Both initially deny the charges.
On 12 Sep 2026 GMT+7, investigators from the Anti-Corruption Division (ACD) allowed bail for Mr. Itthipol, a senior special case officer from the Foreign Affairs and International Crime Division (levels 6-7), and Mr. Anurak, a senior special case investigator (level 8). Both requested bail using their official positions as guarantees. After review, investigators found the suspects have stable jobs and fixed residences, thus approved the bail.
Both are suspects under an arrest warrant from the Criminal Court for Corruption and Misconduct Cases Region 3 on charges of soliciting or agreeing to receive property or other benefits for themselves or others as a reward to improperly entice an official to perform their duties with corrupt intent, violating Section 143 of the Criminal Code and Section 175 of the Anti-Corruption Act B.E. 2561 (2018).
The two suspects were detained by officers led by Police Major General Jaroonkiat Pankaew, Deputy Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau, with Anti-Corruption Division police. Mr. Anurak was arrested at his residence in the Therd Rachan 27 area, where documents revealed he had another home, leading to a search of his Don Mueang residence. Mr. Itthipol was arrested in Chonburi province.
This arrest stems from testimony by Mr. Prawit Jaruratkul, aka Mr. Heng, a former candidate for the Pheu Thai Party and suspect in a local civil service exam bribery case, who implicated the two suspects in the exam corruption ring. Initial questioning shows both suspects deny all allegations.
