"Big DSI" faces a serious disciplinary inquiry after allegations of witness intimidation and fabricating evidence linked to the Senate election rigging case.
On 13 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reports emerged that a witness in the Senate election rigging case submitted an additional written statement to the Election Commission chairman, retracting their prior testimony. The witness claimed they were threatened, lured, and had false evidence fabricated to frame them, serving as a political weapon against a political party.
Further reports from a senior Ministry of Justice source indicated that a complaint has been filed requesting the formation of a disciplinary investigation committee against a director-level official of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI).
The complaint document alleges that this DSI officer secretly copied case files and, while serving on the 26th Investigation Committee of the Election Commission, colluded with the "witness who retracted testimony" to fabricate evidence aimed at criminally implicating others. It was also reported that this DSI officer conducted interrogations of the retracted witness in both investigation case number 151/2024 and special case number 24/2025.
The source added that this DSI officer once served as chief of staff to a former DSI deputy director, who was a candidate for Senate Group 2 in Samut Prakan Province, and was a graduate of Police Cadet Class 37, the same class as a former Minister of Justice who oversaw the DSI during the interrogations.
