Mourning the loss of an outstanding village headman, Ban Phang Police charged a volunteer with negligence causing death after a gunshot intended to subdue a drug-crazed man accidentally killed the village headman. The drug-crazed man was injured and charged with resisting and assaulting officers. The deceased's wife accepted the situation, believing the shooter had no intent, and requested compensation according to regulations. The drug-crazed man's mother acknowledged her son's drug addiction as the root cause of disputes with her, triggered by his attempt to sell a motorcycle to buy drugs, which escalated the incident.
