Police Chief Kittirat has ordered an investigation into a security guard’s aggressive behavior involving assaulting a female rider mother in front of her child and threatening her with a gun. The guard was found to be unlicensed, and legal action will be pursued against both the individual and the employing company.
On 14 Sep 2026 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, following a viral social media video showing a security guard, appearing intoxicated, assaulting a female rider in front of her child and then brandishing a gun to threaten her. The mother, a single parent who delivers food by motorcycle and brings her child to work events, was confronted by the security guard’s aggressive and violent behavior at a residential community.
Police Chief Kittirat Phanpetch stated he has instructed Police Commissioner Siam Boonsom to urgently verify the offender’s status regarding security guard licensing and to check whether the employing company has properly registered and complied with the Security Business Act. This is to ensure the law is upheld as a model for both the company and security personnel.
Chief Kittirat further revealed that the Metropolitan Police Commissioner reported the offender is Somsak Wangsangboon, who committed the offense within the Bang Chan Police Station jurisdiction.
Somsak is employed by a security company licensed under registration number กท XXXXXXX issued on 29 Mar 2026, valid until 28 Mar 2030.
However, investigations found that Somsak does not hold a valid security guard license, which violates Section 63 of the Security Guard Act, punishable by up to three months imprisonment or a fine of up to 5,000 baht.
It was also found that the company, though licensed, committed an offense by assigning unlicensed personnel to perform security duties. This violation carries penalties of up to six months imprisonment and fines up to 10,000 baht.
The Metropolitan Police Bureau, acting as registrar, will issue a formal written warning to the company for this first offense. If the company repeats the same violation four times within one year, the registrar has authority to revoke its business license. The Metropolitan Police Bureau has ordered Bang Chan Police to prosecute all relevant charges thoroughly.
