On 15 Sep 2026, at the Chaijinda Meeting Room, 2nd floor, Prachaarak Building, the Central Investigation Unit Headquarters, Pol Maj Gen Natsak Chawanachai, Commander of the Central Investigation Unit, updated progress on cases where the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Election Commission had filed complaints with the Crime Suppression Division to investigate and apprehend offenders in several major cases.
Pol Maj Gen Natsak said that the Election Commission had filed complaints against six specific individuals accused of violating laws on photography inside polling stations during the re-election on 22 Feb 2026 at polling station number 9, Khan Na Yao district, Bangkok. The Central Investigation Unit has appointed a special investigative team for this case, led by Deputy Commander Pol Maj Gen Suwat Sangnum, who is currently urgently gathering evidence.
Regarding the recent complaint by the DSI and Election Commission against those who leaked secret investigation files related to the Senate election collusion case—classified official documents—the Central Investigation Unit Commander stated that this case is under the responsibility of the Crime Suppression Division, which is actively investigating to identify and punish the offenders.
The trigger for the complaint about the leaked documents stems from the DSI and Election Commission discovering that confidential opinions and case files in the Senate election collusion investigation, including documents from the subcommittee inquiry, had been leaked to outsiders and published by civil society organization iLaw, as well as by political groups and parties. The affected government agencies emphasized that such confidential investigation documents should not be disclosed outside court proceedings, as their publication may affect the case's integrity and judicial process. Meanwhile, political factions and the Bhumjaithai Party have called for an urgent investigation into how these classified official documents leaked to outsiders.
