Highway police stopped a trailer carrying a giant boat without license plates on Phetkasem Road, concerned about potential accidents for other road users. Investigation revealed the driver claimed he was hired from the central region to deliver the boat to a customer in the south.
On 15 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pornsak Laorujiralai, Commander of the Highway Police Division, Pol. Col. Phakphon Suchon, Superintendent of Division 2, and Pol. Lt. Col. Kla Sombatpiboon, Officer of Highway Police Station 4, led forces to intercept and seize a white Volvo 10-wheel truck registered in Prachuap Khiri Khan, towing a green trailer specially modified to carry a large boat but lacking license plates.
The incident occurred on Highway 4 (Phetkasem Road) at km 474+700 southbound, Tha Kham Subdistrict, Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province.
While on routine patrol, highway police spotted the trailer hauling a giant boat named 'Twin Dragon' heading south in a manner that blocked a traffic lane, potentially causing serious danger to motorists. Officers signaled the driver to stop and immediately directed the vehicle to park at the Tha Sae Highway Police Service Station.
During questioning, Mr. Kamon (surname withheld), 66, the driver, and Mr. Natthakit (surname withheld), 24, the cargo controller, said they were hired to transport the boat from the central region to a customer in the south. However, when officers requested vehicle and trailer documents, neither could produce any, claiming the company would deliver them later.
Initially, highway police documented the seizure of the modified truck and trailer to verify the authenticity of documents, vehicle condition, and transport permits thoroughly before forwarding the case to the Tha Sae Police Station for further legal action.
