Police arrested a man in Rayong who fatally stabbed his girlfriend, claiming he lost control after seeing another man deliver her. He said they had an argument but he did not intend to kill her. After the incident, he fled by car to a relative's house before being caught.
On 16 Sep 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported that Ms. Jintara, 37, an employee at a company in Pluak Daeng Industrial Estate, was attacked with a knife by her boyfriend inside their room, sustaining severe injuries. Neighbors heard her cries for help and quickly alerted police and rescue teams, who rushed her to the hospital, where she later died. The suspect, identified as Mr. Ronachai Sritham or "Boy," 42, fled the scene in a white four-door Isuzu pickup truck. Police quickly pursued him, initially believing the motive involved jealousy and relationship issues, as previously reported.
Later, authorities arrested Mr. Ronachai at a room behind a market in Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi Province, at approximately 18:55 on 15 Sep. He was taken into custody for questioning.
Initially, Mr. Ronachai claimed he did not intend to kill his ex-girlfriend. The incident started when he saw another man delivering her to their home, which upset and angered him, leading to an argument. During their quarrel, he picked up a knife to threaten her but admitted he lost control and emotions, then stabbed her, causing severe injuries that led to her death.
After the incident, he fled in the white four-door pickup truck toward Wang Chan District, Rayong Province, where he abandoned the vehicle. He then escaped by motorcycle, heading to Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi Province, his brother’s home, intending to hide and evade police pursuit.
While fleeing by motorcycle, he had an accident causing the motorcycle to crash and sustain damage, and he was injured. He continued on foot to his brother’s house. Meanwhile, Pluak Daeng Police investigators tracked his escape route, located his hideout, and arrested him. He was then brought back for legal processing.
Mr. Ronachai also said he did not expect his ex-girlfriend to die from the incident. He apologized to the victim and her family, expressing regret over what happened and insisting he did not intend for the situation to escalate to a fatal outcome.
However, these statements are Mr. Ronachai’s claims. Authorities are conducting ongoing investigations and gathering evidence to proceed with legal action based on facts and proper procedures.
