The Central Investigation Bureau organized “CIB AI Day 2026,” showcasing 46 AI innovations that highlight the expertise of CIB officers and advance the “Next-Gen CIB” initiative.
At 09:30 on 16 Sep 2026 GMT+7, at the Central Investigation Police Club on the 29th floor of Pitak Santi Building, CIB Headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Natthasak Chaowanasi, CIB Commissioner, presided over the opening of “CIB AI Day 2026.” Attendees included Pol. Lt. Gen. Phitthaya Sirirak, Trade Competition Committee member; Pol. Maj. Gen. Phopphon Jakkapak, Deputy Commander of the Crime Suppression Division; Pol. Col. Pongsanti Khammuangsai, Head of Investigation and Technology Standards Group (representing the Technology Department); Special Prosecutor Pakorn Thammarot; and other distinguished guests. The event’s main theme was “Next-Gen CIB: Elevating System Development into the AI Era.”
Pol. Lt. Gen. Natthasak explained that criminal threats have evolved into advanced technologies, while digital evidence has grown exponentially. The CIB is accelerating intellectual empowerment among its personnel to shift from "users" to "creators/developers" who can solve real frontline problems by applying AI to reduce redundant paperwork and improve accuracy in crime suppression.
He emphasized three key pillars in AI development and use: Security, which involves robust cybersecurity defenses and infrastructure to prevent system breaches or interference.
Responsibility, following a human-centric approach (Human-in-the-Loop), where AI supports data analysis but final judgment and decision-making remain with the police.
Privacy, with strict oversight measures to protect citizens’ personal data and official information from leaks.
This competition featured 46 AI innovation projects submitted by CIB police officers. The winning projects in the three main sectors were as follows.
In investigation, the winning project was the “SU Intelligence Platform,” an advanced case data analysis system that processes and links digital evidence, crime plans, and criminal routes to support precise suspect apprehension planning.
In inquiry, the winning project was “CPPD AI Inquiry Assistant,” an innovation integrating an AI agent to categorize data, draft witness statements, and systematically review investigation files, thereby reducing paperwork burdens.
In administration, the winning project was “HWPD NEXT GEN,” a comprehensive platform for highway police work covering management across six levels and twelve functions, featuring three types of intelligent AI assistants to ensure seamless road safety.
The event also included many engaging activities such as innovation exhibitions from 12 CIB divisions, academic panel discussions and special lectures on AI applications in police work, live demonstrations of winning projects, and collaboration with global partners and educational institutions including AWS, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) to develop digital skills and truly advance Thai investigation work into the new era.
