At 14:52 on 18 Sep 2026, Pol. Col. Praphot Lomket, superintendent of Sukirin Police Station, Narathiwat, received reports of an ambush bombing and follow-up shooting against the Sukirin Volunteer Defense officials on a road in Blu Kaya Ing village, Moo 2, Rom Sai subdistrict. The attack caused multiple deaths and injuries among officials and damaged vehicles. At the scene, a white Isuzu 6-wheel truck with Bangkok license plates was found overturned with its wheels facing upward. Several injured and deceased individuals were trapped underneath. About 20 meters away, a bomb crater approximately 2 meters deep and 3 meters wide was found, scattered with fragments of the homemade bomb placed inside a 50-kg cooking gas tank. As the truck passed, they detonated a bomb buried under the road surface, causing the truck to flip and roll multiple times.
