Warning issued after a pervert thief rode a motorcycle around a Sai Mai village in Bangkok, stealing women's underwear, hats, and opening motorcycle seats to steal cash. The suspect remains at large without arrest.
On 20 September 2026, reports emerged of a male suspect riding a motorcycle committing thefts within a village in Sai Mai, Bangkok, causing multiple residents to suffer losses.
According to Ms. Orn (alias), 35, between 03:16 and 04:21 on 19 September 2026, a man wearing a T-shirt and shorts rode a motorcycle into the village through the main gate. He then entered various homes stealing women's underwear and valuables, with nearly 10 households affected.
Besides stealing underwear, some homes had hats taken and motorcycle seat locks tampered with, resulting in 2,000 baht cash stolen. She believes the suspect is not a resident, as no one recognized him.
Village representatives and residents collected CCTV evidence and reported it to Sai Mai Police Station. Ms. Orn expressed shock and fear since the suspect remains free, worrying about potential harm to villagers. She urged police to apprehend the culprit swiftly.
Reviewing CCTV footage at one victim's home showed some gates secured with padlocks, yet the thief gained easy access. Inside, he approached clotheslines, stuffing women's underwear into his shirt. A notable feature is a large tattoo on his right leg.
Following the incident, the village advised residents to heighten caution and safeguard valuables by storing them securely. When homes are unoccupied, residents should thoroughly check and lock gates and doors. Any suspicious persons or behavior should be reported promptly to the village management for investigation.
