After losing, he refused to pay, leaving a debt exceeding 600,000 baht. She stated she is ready to enter the legal process but just wants the officer to return the money.
On 20 Sep 2026 GMT+7, "Ms. Kaew" (a pseudonym), the victim, presented evidence including money transfer slips and chat messages to the Sai Mai Must Survive page, seeking help after a police lieutenant colonel hired her to place football bets but later defaulted on payments totaling over 600,000 baht.
Ms. Kaew explained she met the police officer through mutual acquaintances and had socialized with him since 2023. In 2024, during the Euro football tournament, the officer, knowing she gambled on football, asked her to send betting slips. She placed several bets throughout the season, winning and losing, with amounts ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of baht. On one occasion, she lost 350,000 baht, but the officer only transferred 100,000 baht to her, forcing her to use her own money to pay the betting shop. This repeated several times until she had to sell her car and personal belongings to cover interest and debts on behalf of the officer, accumulating over 600,000 baht in total.
When she tried to follow up and demand repayment, the officer often evaded and postponed, promising to pay back 50,000 baht monthly and sending subordinates to collect money from various sources. However, he never repaid a single baht.
Additionally, when she organized a savings group, both the officer and his wife joined with one share each. When she asked about the debt, the officer's wife suggested deducting 240,000 baht from the savings shares. Later, the officer's wife filed a fraud complaint against Ms. Kaew, causing her great concern since she has clear evidence but is being prosecuted herself. Attempts to meet the officer were met with avoidance, and when she called his superiors to complain, she was told it was a personal matter and to resolve it privately.
Ms. Kaew acknowledged that what she did was wrong and is willing to face legal proceedings since online gambling did occur. However, she is demanding the officer return the money because she used her hard-earned income to cover the betting debts, which has caused severe financial hardship for her family. She also wants disciplinary and criminal action taken against the officer.
Mr. Niran Kae-ngao, co-founder of the Sai Mai Must Survive page, stated the page will coordinate with Khlong Luang Police Station to assist and pursue legal action as appropriate. The complainant is willing to enter the legal process, but they want the police to prosecute all involved in the gambling without exception.
