A 13-year-old girl jumped from her home's second-floor window to escape her uncle's attempted rape, sustaining critical injuries. Police are urgently searching for the suspect, who has a history of four drug-related arrests and convictions.
On 21 Sep 2026 GMT+7, a news reporter cited the Facebook page “Ton Oe Pen Nueng” posting a plea for help. It stated that a grandmother reported her son, involved with drugs, climbed through the second-floor window, strangled, and assaulted his niece. The girl struggled free and decided to jump out the window to save her life, resulting in severe injuries including shattered toe bones and a collapsed spine.
After the incident, the grandmother tried to provide police with information on where her son was hiding but still saw him driving in the area. Fearing he might harm family members again, she urged authorities to quickly locate and prosecute him.
Reporters later visited the scene in Chanphen Subdistrict. The grandfather explained that on the day of the incident, he and his wife were working in Sakon Nakhon city, leaving their 13-year-old granddaughter, "Bee" (alias), alone on the second floor with the door locked but the window open due to heat. Neighbors reported that Mr. V (alias), 31, the girl's uncle living on the lower floor, climbed through the window and attempted to rape her.
The grandfather added that neighbors said the suspect strangled the girl and tried to assault her. Terrified, she struggled and escaped, jumping from the window to save herself. The suspect jumped down after her intending to repeat the attack, but neighbors heard her cries for help and intervened, causing him to flee. Further details remain unclear.
Police Colonel Jeerawat Photina, chief of Ta Ngoi Police Station, said officers were alerted on Saturday, 19 Sep 2026 GMT+7, when relatives brought the injured girl to report the crime. She was rushed to hospital and then transferred to Sakon Nakhon Central Hospital. Initial investigations revealed the suspect was a relative living in the same house, who took advantage of the grandparents' absence by climbing through the open window and attempting to rape the girl.
Checks on the suspect's background show a history of four drug-related arrests and prosecutions. He is also reported to have psychiatric issues and a violent, aggressive demeanor. Authorities are urgently tracking him to prevent further offenses.
Recently, investigators coordinated with multidisciplinary teams and psychologists to interview the girl at the hospital, gathering evidence to seek an arrest warrant expected within 1-2 days. The investigation and police surveillance units have been actively searching the suspect's likely hideouts for two days but have yet to locate him.
