At 10:30 a.m. on 22 Sep 2026 GMT+7, at the Central Investigation Bureau's complaint center (CIB), Mr. Samer Ngiw-ngam, also known as "Pong Suphan", a revered amulet expert, arrived to provide information to investigators from Division 1, Crime Suppression Division, to clarify his role as one of the board members of the "Hwan Choti Foundation," which was established by "Sami Choti," the former abbot of Phutthaisawan Temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
Before the scheduled appointment, reporters contacted Mr. Samer by phone regarding the matter. He revealed that five out of seven board members of the foundation had already provided statements to the investigators, leaving him as one of the remaining board members yet to give information.
Mr. Samer confirmed that he does not have authority to authorize fund disbursements. The individuals authorized to do so include the former abbot, the secretary, and one other board member. He affirmed that the foundation’s funds remain intact and have not disappeared.
Mr. Samer also stated that he has always been devoted to and supportive of the temple. He expressed sadness and disappointment over the incident, comparing his feelings to "heartbreak."
When asked if he knows Ms. Punyavee, known as "Sika Ae," Pong Suphan said he does not know her personally but has seen her face. He said he is not deeply involved in temple affairs but regularly pays respects to Luang Pho or Luang Pho Jatukam, who is associated with the Nuer Duang amulet, every Thursday. He insisted he is not the creator of the Nuer Duang amulet. Regarding the reason for offering gold, he said he will explain later and assured there is nothing being concealed and that he wishes to disclose everything.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthanasak Bupphasuwan, commander of the Crime Suppression Division, revealed that investigators from Division 1 issued a summons for Mr. Samer Ngiw-ngam, or "Pong Suphan," to provide information after his name appeared as one of the board members of the "Hwan Choti Foundation," established by Mr. Atichot, or "Sami Choti," the former abbot of Phutthaisawan Temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
Investigators summoned Mr. Samer to question him as a witness since he has been a board member of the "Hwan Choti Foundation" since its establishment in 2025 and because his responsibilities concerning temple oversight are quite broad. It was necessary to call all board members listed to obtain relevant information related to the case.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Phatthanasak added that initially, the "Hwan Choti Foundation" has seven board members. So far, five have been questioned, all providing useful information for the case. The scope of each board member’s authority depends on what the former abbot assigned to them.
Regarding the financial trail of the "Hwan Choti Foundation," the police confirmed they already have the information but cannot yet disclose details because the investigation and case development are still ongoing.
