The Criminal Prosecutor's Office 5 filed charges against defendants: Mr. Thanasanankorn Techatanatchot, defendant 1; Mr. Saksit (or Toon) Chinwong, defendant 2; Mr. Thanapat (or Naew) Songsang, defendant 3; Mr. Apisit (or Bas) Sodchoen, defendant 4; Mr. Sitthichai (or Jim or Jin) Sripakdee, defendant 5; Mr. Phatthananon (or Off) Boonchu, defendant 6; Mr. Suntorn Wilawan (Gotorn), former Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization president and former Deputy Minister of Public Health, defendant 7; and Ms. Minchayarath (or May) Patcharamarnkul, defendant 8. They were jointly charged with murder under the Firearms Act.
The prosecution summarized the charges stating that on the night of 11 December 2024, Mr. Suntorn ordered the other defendants to shoot Mr. Chaimet Sitthisanitpong, or Provincial Councilor Tong, 22 times, resulting in his death inside the home located on Wat Romanuthit Road, Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Prachinburi Province. The residence belonged to Mr. Suntorn Wilawan (Gotorn), former provincial head and former Deputy Minister of Public Health. The defendants, who denied the charges, were brought from prison to attend the verdict hearing.
