A Myanmar man stole a 2-baht gold necklace but was caught by a group of motorcycle taxi drivers at the entrance of Udomsuk 1 Alley. They restrained him along with the evidence before handing him over to Bangna Police Station for prosecution.
At 10:40 a.m. on 24 Sep 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Natthanon Nabngamthaneset, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Bangna Police Station, received a report of a gold necklace theft where civilians helped capture the suspect. The incident occurred at Petcharee Gold Shop, No. 163-165, Udomsuk 1 Alley, Udomsuk Road, Bangna Nuea Subdistrict, Bangna District, Bangkok. He promptly went to the scene with Police Colonel Surapong Sukyaem, Chief of Bangna Police Station, Police Lieutenant Colonel Sakda Lakdee, Patrol Division Chief, and officers from patrol and investigation units.
At the scene, four motorcycle taxi drivers at the entrance of Udomsuk 1 Alley assisted in detaining Mr. SAI LOOT, 25, a Myanmar national and the suspect, who was holding the 2-baht gold necklace in his right hand near the location of the incident.
Ms. Thida Sutin, 32, the manager of the gold shop, appeared alarmed and stated that before the incident, the suspect pretended to come in to buy a 2-baht gold necklace, checking its weight. Then he suddenly grabbed it and ran away. She chased after him shouting that the thief had stolen the gold. The motorcycle taxi drivers helped to catch him.
The suspect was charged with theft and is being processed according to the law.
