The Chanthaburi Police Chief ordered an immediate investigation after social media complaints reported illegal hi-lo gambling at a resort within the Thung Benja Police Station area. Provincial detectives accompanied by local police found the situation normal, encountering only an empty resort with no signs of illegal gambling. Authorities affirmed they would not neglect their duties and would maintain continuous surveillance.
Following social media posts complaining about illegal gambling (hi-lo) in Thung Benja Subdistrict, Tha Mai District, Chanthaburi Province, it was alleged that dozens of people gathered at a resort used as a meeting point for gambling. The posts urged Pol. Maj. Gen. Phadungsak Raksasuk, the Provincial Police Commander, and Pol. Col. Monthon Sangwai, Chief of Thung Benja Police Station, to verify the facts.
After the issue went public, Pol. Maj. Gen. Phadungsak Raksasuk, Chanthaburi Provincial Police Commander, immediately ordered an investigation. He assigned Pol. Col. Tharatep Tuphanich, Deputy Commander of Chanthaburi Provincial Police, together with the provincial police detective team and the Thung Benja Police Chief, to lead an inspection of the resort mentioned in the complaint.
Upon inspecting the location, officers found no individuals or groups as described in the complaint, nor any illegal gambling activities at the time of the inspection.
Police officials confirmed they will not neglect any illegal activities occurring in the area, especially illegal gambling operations. They instructed local officers to maintain continuous vigilance and conduct ongoing checks.
