In Nakhon Si Thammarat, a husband and wife were chased and shot at by a gunman driving a sedan for more than 30 kilometers. Bullets grazed their heads and ears, covering them in blood. They accelerated and turned into Thung Song Police Station seeking help.
At 15:30 on 2 Oct 2026, officers at Thung Song Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat received a report that a gunman driving a white Toyota Vios sedan, license plate unknown, was chasing and shooting at a white Nissan pickup truck registered in Bangkok. The incident began at Ban Suan Pa intersection, Khao Khao Subdistrict, Thung Song District, heading toward Khok Bok intersection and onto Asia Route 41 into Thung Song town, with the assailants firing continuously along the way.
Upon receiving the report, Pol. Col. Somporn Nitiphak, Chief of Thung Song Police Station, ordered patrol and investigation teams to promptly deploy forces to investigate and suppress the incident.
Later, the chased pickup truck drove rapidly into Thung Song Police Station to request assistance. Upon inspection, two injured individuals were found—a husband and wife identified as Mr. Pornnirun, 45, and Ms. Apinya, 29. Both had grazing gunshot wounds to their ears and heads, bleeding profusely. Rescue volunteers from Pracharuamjai Thung Song Foundation provided first aid and transported them to Thung Song Hospital. Their condition is now stable and out of danger.
During questioning, Mr. Pornnirun said that while driving for business in Khao Khao Subdistrict, a group of assailants, whom he knew personally, chased him in a sedan and fired at his vehicle over a distance exceeding 30 kilometers. Fortunately, the bullets only grazed non-critical areas. The suspected motive is a personal dispute.
Currently, the Thung Song investigation team is thoroughly interviewing the victims and checking CCTV footage along the route to quickly identify and arrest the gunmen for prosecution.
