The Commander of Police Region 2 led a team to Nong Prue Police Station in Chonburi to follow up on the case of three suspects who broke into a luxury residence in the Nong Prue area. They threatened a foreign national with firearms before stealing cash, three Rolex watches, and forcing a cryptocurrency transfer valued at approximately 820,000 US dollars, or about 27.5 million baht, with total initial damages estimated at around 37 million baht.
In the early hours today, about three suspects committed a robbery inside a village in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, where the victim was a foreign national.
Regarding this matter, on 6 October 2026 at 15:30 local time at Nong Prue Police Station, Chonburi, Pol. Lt. Gen. Wason Techakakrasem, Commander of Police Region 2, Pol. Maj. Gen. Chatree Suksiri, Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattisak Sarathongoi, Commander of Police Region 2 Investigation Division, deputy commanders of Chonburi Provincial Police and Police Region 2 Investigation Division, the chief of Nong Prue Police Station, and related officials held a meeting to follow up on the case of suspects breaking into a residence in Nong Prue Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi.
The incident occurred at 03:30 on 6 October when about three suspects, with their faces covered, threatened and assaulted the victims with firearms. They used handcuffs and ropes to tie up the victims and cleaning staff before forcing a transfer of USDT cryptocurrency totaling 820,000 US dollars, or 27.5 million baht.
Other stolen property included cash, three Rolex watches, and three mobile phones, with initial damages estimated at about 37 million baht before the suspects fled.
The Commander of Police Region 2 emphasized the urgent resolution of the case and instructed investigators and police officers to quickly gather evidence, review CCTV footage, trace the suspects' escape routes, and coordinate all forces to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice promptly.
