Immigration Office in Samut Prakan Arrests U.S. Man at Luxury Sukhumvit Mansion for Wage Evasion Warrants

The Immigration Office, through the Samut Prakan Immigration Division, is intensifying its crackdown on foreign nationals with outstanding warrants, swiftly pursuing prosecution after uncovering cases involving wage arrears to employees, with multiple victims and total damages exceeding one million baht.

On 16 October 2026, Samut Prakan Immigration officers launched an operation to arrest a U.S. man known as “Michael,” identified as the subject of two warrants issued by the Samut Prakan Provincial Court. Authorities detained him inside a luxury mansion in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok. The case involves numerous victims with total damages surpassing one million baht.

This operation follows the directive of Police Lieutenant General Nopphasin Poolsawat, Commander of the Immigration Police Division, who instructed affiliated units to urgently investigate and track foreign nationals with warrants evading prosecution, aiming to prevent crimes and maintain social order.

Police Major General Songprod Sirisukha, Commander of Immigration Division 3; Police Colonel Chinawut Tangwonglert, Deputy Commander of Immigration Division 3; and Police Colonel Sithisak Kosakun, Chief of Samut Prakan Immigration Office, ordered Police Lieutenant Colonel Kathayut Phuengdet, Deputy Chief of Samut Prakan Immigration Office, to lead a team including officers such as Acting Police Lieutenant Colonel Sanchai Sanphan, Police Sub-Lieutenants Thawin Plasak and Phansawut Saengsingkaew, Police Sergeant Major Jamlong Bomkhundot, Police Sergeant Major Thanin Nakrak, and Police Corporals Jakraphan Thumkham and Worawat Yotsri to conduct the investigation.

Reviewing the National Police Information System revealed that Michael is subject to two warrants issued by the Samut Prakan Provincial Court: warrant 580/2026 dated 22 June 2026 and warrant 772/2026 dated 14 August 2026. He is charged with "jointly failing to pay employees their wages correctly and on time, as well as jointly disobeying labor inspector orders."

Michael also holds the position of company director for a business involved in machinery, equipment, and software for the beer and wine production industry, as well as food and beverage import and distribution. The case involves many victims with total damages exceeding one million baht related to wage nonpayment. Authorities expedited efforts to apprehend him for legal prosecution.

Subsequently, officers learned that the suspect was residing in a luxury mansion in the Sukhumvit area. They proceeded to conduct a raid, successfully arresting him and transferring him to Bang Sao Thong Police Station for legal action.

Immigration Division 3 Commander Reaffirms Commitment to Crackdown on Offenders

The Commander of Immigration Division 3 added that Police Lieutenant General Nopphasin Poolsawat, Commander of the Immigration Police Division, has urged all units under his command to intensify investigations and crackdowns on foreign groups that form influential gangs, commit violent acts, or pose threats to public order. Special focus is on gangs using violence to ensure they do not cause trouble or threaten public safety.

The Immigration Office will continue to screen foreign nationals entering the kingdom and expedite the pursuit of those with warrants or who violate laws to ensure they face justice, thereby enhancing public confidence in safety.
