Police Major General Nopphasin Poolsawat, Commander of the Immigration Police Division, has ordered an urgent investigation of four entertainment venues in Rayong after discovering over 100 Chinese nationals. Authorities are intensifying scrutiny of their immigration status amid claims of bribes paid to officials.
On 17 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Police Major General Nopphasin Poolsawat, Commander of the Immigration Police Division, revealed that following inspections of four entertainment venues in Rayong Province where over 100 Chinese nationals were found, he instructed Police Major General Songprod Sirisukha, Commander of Immigration Division 3, to form a joint committee with relevant agencies. They are to urgently verify facts on site, especially immigration status, visa types, authorized stay duration, and any behavior potentially violating the Immigration Act or related laws. If violations are confirmed, strict legal action will be taken.
He also ordered an investigation into allegations of official involvement or payments to officials. If evidence confirms wrongdoing, disciplinary and criminal proceedings will be pursued decisively. The commander stressed the investigation must be thorough, transparent, and fair.
Police Major General Nopphasin stated that preliminary checks found foreign nationals suspected of violations: three Laotian women, six Myanmar nationals, and one stateless woman charged with "being foreign workers without work permits or working beyond authorized scope."
The Immigration Office emphasizes strict law enforcement, especially regarding foreigners potentially using Thailand as a base for illegal activities. It is enhancing inspection and monitoring of foreign nationals nationwide, coordinating with related agencies to prevent transnational crime and build public and tourist confidence in safety.
The public can report suspicious foreign individuals or official misconduct via the Immigration Police hotline at 1178, available 24 hours a day.
