Criminal Court Forwards Amnesty Petition in Don Mueang Airport Closure Case to Appeals Court

The Criminal Court has sent an amnesty petition regarding the case of 32 Alliance group leaders and associates who closed Don Mueang Airport to the Appeals Court for a ruling, as the case is currently under appeal.

At Criminal Court courtroom 904 at 10:00 a.m. on 19 Oct 2026 GMT+7, the court scheduled a hearing for case number A 973/2013, in which the Criminal Prosecutor's Office 9 sued Lt. Gen. Jamlong Srimuang, leader of the People's Alliance for Democracy, along with 32 others, for rebellion and causing public disorder by jointly besieging Don Mueang Airport from 24 Nov to 3 Dec 2008. The Criminal Court acquitted them, but the case is now under appeal. The defendants filed an amnesty petition under the 2026 Social Peace Promotion Act.

The court stated that the defendants filed a petition to dismiss the case under the 2026 Social Peace Promotion Act on 4 Sep 2026. After inquiring with the prosecution, the prosecutors declared no objection. Since the case is under appeal, the court ordered the amnesty petition to be forwarded to the Appeals Court for a ruling.
