Five Suspects Arrested for Smuggling 300 Kilograms of Ice Meth Worth 90 Million Baht

The Police Region 1 Commander announced the arrest of five suspects transporting 300 kilograms of ice methamphetamine worth 90 million baht. They confessed that a broker hired them to deliver the drugs to Chainat Province. They were detained along with the seized evidence for prosecution.

At 10:00 a.m. on 19 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Police Lieutenant General Naradet Thiprak, Commander of Police Region 1, along with Police Major General Atthaphon Anusit, Deputy Commander of Police Region 1, Police Major General Panupakorn Jitprayurte, Commander of the Investigation Division of Police Region 1, Police Colonel Wisit Maaksorn and Police Colonel Witit Chan-iem, Deputy Commanders of the Investigation Division of Police Region 1, and Police Colonel Runroj Sukthai, Head of the Special Operations Unit of Police Region 1, together with investigation and special operations officers, held a press conference announcing the arrest of a major drug trafficking group. The five suspects arrested were Thanabodee (or Uthar), 46; Thanapong, 26; Adulsak, 43; Pathompong (or Yo), 21; and Samai, 37. They were caught along with a scout vehicle used for route reconnaissance and a vehicle used to transport the drugs.

Police Lieutenant General Naradet Thiprak, Commander of Police Region 1, said the arrest followed intelligence that a major drug trafficking group was moving narcotics from the northeastern border provinces to Sisaket Province to be delivered to Chainat Province. Police deployed forces to monitor the suspects until two vehicles were seen traveling on Phahonyothin Road, Yan Mantri Subdistrict, Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province. Police intercepted and seized the drugs, valued at 90 million baht.

During interrogation, all suspects confessed that a broker hired them to transport the drugs to Chainat Province, but they were caught by police before delivery.

Initially, the suspects were charged with jointly distributing a Category 1 narcotic (ice meth) by possessing it for sale, an act intended for commercial purposes that causes drug proliferation among the public and affects national security and public safety.

The suspects, along with the seized evidence, were then handed over to investigators at Phayuha Khiri Police Station, Nakhon Sawan Province, to proceed with legal action.
