In Ayutthaya, a jealous ex-boyfriend on a motorcycle ambushed and shot his partner's new boyfriend three times while the victim was waiting for the woman, resulting in death outside a factory. CCTV captured the incident, and police are urgently pursuing the suspect who fled with the firearm.
At around 20:00 on 19 Oct 2026, a shooting occurred in front of a factory in Wang Chula subdistrict, Wang Noi district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province. The victim was shot three times and seriously wounded. Police at the patrol post and nearby people rushed to help and took him to Wang Noi Hospital, where he later died. The victim was identified as Mr. Thanabodi Kasornsurivong, 24, from Kamphaeng Phet province. He was shot in the right chest, flank, and face—three shots in total. At the scene, a large blood pool and three bullet casings were found. Police photographed and collected evidence.
According to Mr. Sarayut, 48, at the time of the incident, it was after work hours with employees leaving. Mr. Thanabodi rode a red Honda motorcycle to wait for his girlfriend, 23, who worked inside the company. Then, Mr. Watanyu, or “Tee,” 38, from Ang Thong province and the woman's former boyfriend, rode his motorcycle back to park in front of the factory. He then drew a firearm and shot Mr. Thanabodi three times, causing him to fall. The suspect then fled quickly on his motorcycle.
Witnesses said that upon hearing gunshots, they rushed to check and found the victim bleeding heavily. Meanwhile, police officers at the patrol post across the street immediately assisted and took the victim to the hospital.
Ms. Por, 23, the victim’s girlfriend, revealed that she met Mr. Tee through Facebook around late last year. They met and talked only three to four times, after which she decided not to pursue a relationship and blocked all contact due to his jealous behavior. Previously, he had threatened her with a gun to her head while she was at her former workplace, causing her fear and prompting her to switch jobs. Since then, she had no contact with him but knew he sometimes loitered near her new workplace.
On the day of the incident, as she finished work and was about to get on Mr. Thanabodi’s motorcycle waiting outside the factory, Mr. Tee ambushed and shot her boyfriend before fleeing.
Regarding the deceased, she said they met through Facebook about five to six months ago and decided to date. He moved to work in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya about a week ago, and they rented a room together until the shooting occurred.
CCTV footage from the industrial area shows a gray-black Honda PCX motorcycle entering the premises, parking with the engine off at the factory entrance, then restarting and parking across from the factory where the victim’s motorcycle was parked. Then, flashes resembling muzzle fire appeared three times before the suspect fled on the motorcycle.
Police are currently collecting evidence, reviewing CCTV footage, and urgently pursuing Mr. Watanyu for prosecution. The victim’s body will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death before being handed to the family for religious rites.
Recent investigations found that after the shooting, Mr. Watanyu fled back to his hometown in Ang Thong province. Police found a gray Yamaha XMAX motorcycle believed used in the crime, along with related clothing left at his house, but the suspect himself was not found.
Police Colonel Kantrapee Sriprasert, acting superintendent of Wang Noi Police Station, ordered the investigation team to urgently track the suspect’s escape route and coordinate with authorities in related areas to arrest him. He emphasized special caution because the suspect may still be armed.
Police are currently intensifying efforts to apprehend the suspect. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
