Cyber Police Arrest 8 Members of Scam Gang Controlling Money Withdrawal Runners in Nakhon Pathom and Nonthaburi

Cyber police raided and dismantled a scammer network, arresting 8 suspects who managed money mule gangs withdrawing funds in Nakhon Pathom and Nonthaburi. They were found to withdraw victims' money to buy gold, then sell it for cash to send to a Chinese gray market boss. Each received 1,000 baht per day plus accommodation and meals.

On 20 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Thinkorn Rangmat, Commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Arut Saengjan, Deputy Commander of TCSD, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarayut Junnawat, Commander of TCSD Division 2, Pol. Col. Apirak Champasri, Deputy Commander of TCSD Division 2, Pol. Col. Monchai Boonlert, Superintendent of Division 2 TCSD, and Pol. Lt. Col. Den Danai Watwanijton, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) assisting the Deputy Superintendent of Division 2 TCSD,

to lead an investigation team to dismantle the scammer network cutting off the gray money withdrawal circuit. They arrested 8 money mule managers: Thapakorn Khailert, 46, from Ubon Ratchathani; Witthaya Torpradit, 47, from Samut Sakhon; Siriwat Hemnad, 47, from Ubon Ratchathani; Suriya Chanta Wong, 42, from Udon Thani; Orawee Chanta Wong, 34, from Nakhon Pathom; Rattanaporn Huayhongthong, 41, from Nakhon Pathom; Ubonrat Buayaem, 47, from Trat; and Supat Kaewprasert, 47, from Phitsanulok. All were wanted under Nonthaburi Provincial Court warrants No. 1606-1613/2569 dated 17 Oct 2026. Authorities seized 8 mobile phones, 1 bankbook, and 22 ATM cards.

They were charged with procuring, advertising, or disseminating information to buy, sell, rent, or lend bank accounts, electronic cards, or e-money accounts for use in technology-related crimes or other criminal offenses, and unauthorized possession of others’ electronic cards in a manner likely to cause damage to others or the public.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Thinkorn Rangmat said the arrests began in early October when an investigation team from Division 2, TCSD, received intelligence from an undercover informant embedded in a group hired to manage money mule runners withdrawing funds for scammers. These runners operated near banks and ATMs in various shopping mall areas.

They waited to withdraw cash obtained from victims per instructions sent via Telegram, specifying the amount credited to accounts. The mules withdrew cash at counters and ATMs, then used the money to buy gold, which was sold to convert back to cash. The cash was then deposited through ATMs into various accounts as directed by controllers, facilitating further transfers to a Chinese boss to avoid detection and hinder asset recovery by authorities.

The investigation team gathered information confirming that the group managing the money mule runners was a large network with multiple individuals. They compiled evidence and obtained arrest warrants for 8 suspects, who were apprehended in Nakhon Pathom (3) and Nonthaburi (5).

During initial questioning, the suspects admitted they had previously acted as money mule runners until their accounts were frozen. The call center gang then contacted account buyers or account renters with experience and knowledge, recruiting them to manage the mules for 2-3 months. Each received 1,000 baht daily plus accommodation and meals. They awaited instructions on locations to supervise mules. Previously, each had withdrawn millions of baht daily until their arrest. They were detained and handed over to Division 2, TCSD investigators for legal proceedings.
