The Royal Thai Police Chief is attentive to officers' concerns, urging unit leaders to allocate budgets with the focus on “work unaffected, morale unbroken.” Ensuring public safety and good police morale are top priorities.
Today (20 October 2026), Pol Maj Gen Siriwat Deepho, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, stated that Police General Samran Nualma, the Chief of Police, has instructed commanders at all levels—including commanders, chiefs, and superintendents—on budget management by emphasizing two key principles.
1. “Work unaffected” means that the police’s core duties in all areas—especially safeguarding citizens’ lives and property, crime prevention and suppression, and administering justice—must be carried out efficiently without negatively impacting the public.
2. “Morale unbroken” means that within the limited budget, there must be no adverse effects on the morale and quality of life of the officers on duty, and importantly, all actions must comply with legal regulations.
The Police Chief places great importance on police morale, emphasizing comprehensive care of welfare rights, quality of life, and boosting morale to empower officers in serving the public.
Regarding concerns from some officers about allowance adjustments, the Police Chief is aware and not complacent. He has authorized commanders to manage and allocate budgets accordingly, with instructions to report any issues to the Royal Thai Police headquarters for resolution. Meanwhile, the Royal Thai Police has coordinated with the government to request additional budget allocations and tasked the Deputy Chief of Police for administration and the Budget and Finance Office to find solutions to ensure police missions proceed effectively.
