Nopasin ordered an international manhunt and arrested a Norwegian man wanted by Interpol for stabbing a 15-year-old who was seriously injured, hiding in a condominium in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
On 20 October 2026 at 14:00, police officers from the Investigation Division of Immigration Police Region 3, together with Samut Prakan Immigration Office, raided a condominium unit to notify the revocation of stay permission and detain Mr. Olaf (alias), 19, a Norwegian national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice for attempted murder and grievous bodily harm. Investigations identified his hideout as a condominium in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
This operation followed the directives of Police General Samran Nualma, Royal Thai Police Commissioner, and Police Lieutenant General Nopasin Poolsawat, Commander of Immigration Bureau, who ordered urgent pursuit and arrest of foreign fugitives hiding in the kingdom. Deputy Commander of Immigration Bureau Police Major General Thanit Thaiwatcharamat, Commander of Immigration Police Region 3 Police Major General Songprod Sirisukha, and Deputy Commander Police Colonel Chinawut Tangwonglert directed the operation. The team was led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Thongthai Pairo, Investigation Division Superintendent, Immigration Police Region 3, along with Deputy Superintendent Sanchai Saenphan from Samut Prakan Immigration, to track the Norwegian suspect whose passport had been revoked by Norwegian authorities.
They found the suspect hiding in a condominium in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan. The officers identified themselves, showed documents, notified the revocation of his residence permission, and took him into custody. The suspect admitted he was the individual wanted in Norway for stabbing a 15-year-old boy who was seriously injured, reportedly over a dispute involving an e-cigarette sales deal. He declined to comment on the case. Authorities took him to the Investigation Division of Immigration Police Region 3 for further interrogation and evidence gathering before transferring him to Division 3, Immigration Bureau Investigation, for legal proceedings.
Police Major General Songprod Sirisukha, Commander of Immigration Police Region 3, said that Police Lieutenant General Nopasin Poolsawat, Commander of Immigration Bureau, emphasized coordination with international law enforcement to continuously track fugitives wanted by Interpol who enter Thailand. “Thailand does not welcome international criminals and will not allow itself to become a refuge for foreign offenders, especially those who slip in and commit crimes here, threatening public safety. This is absolutely unacceptable,” he said, pledging determined pursuit and strict legal action regardless of where the fugitives hide.
