Police raided a luxury house in Sai Mai valued at about 40 million baht and arrested a Chinese call center and online gambling network after a Chinese male victim escaped and revealed he was deceived into working as an admin with a salary of 80,000 baht before discovering links to illegal activities.
At 11:00 a.m. on 22 Oct 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Noppasin Poolsawat, Commander of Immigration Police, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Thanit Thaiwatcharamat, Deputy Commander, Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarawut Khonlai, Commander of the Investigation Division, Pol. Col. Chidcha Songhong, Deputy Commander, Pol. Col. Chaya Panakit, Investigation Group Commander, Pol. Col. Phisit Srion, Investigation Unit 2 Commander, and other officers led an Immigration Police force to raid three luxury houses in Sai Mai worth over 40 million baht. They arrested 14 suspects: 10 Chinese, 3 Thai, and 1 Myanmar national. They seized more than 200 items used in crimes and cash, with total damages exceeding 100 million baht.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Noppasin revealed that immigration police received a critical tip from Liu, a 25-year-old Chinese national, who escaped from a secret Sai Mai residence and sought help, bringing photographic evidence and chat records. Liu said he was lured from China with a high salary offer of 80,000 baht but was forced to work as a scammer deceiving fellow Chinese by tricking them into reviewing products and inflating views, then coaxing them to transfer increasing amounts of money before absconding with the funds. In the residence, Chinese workers were forced to work 12-hour shifts under strict supervision and made to manage the back-end of online gambling websites.
In September, Liu overheard the controllers discussing plans to move their operations to Cambodia due to intensified Thai government crackdowns. Fearing for his safety, he planned and successfully escaped.
Preliminary checks of electronic devices revealed links to a major Chinese online gambling site known as "HGA" or the "Hong Guan" network. Evidence of phone scams is under investigation, with authorities analyzing user data, phone numbers, related accounts, and financial transactions to determine each device’s role and each suspect’s involvement in the network.
Coordinating with Chinese authorities, officials identified at least two key suspects. The first, a Chinese national named Fu, has an outstanding arrest warrant in China related to online gambling. Officials are verifying the details and official status of the warrant.
The other suspect, Han, has a Thai arrest warrant for drug offenses involving ketamine. The case is in court, and he has been granted bail. Immigration records also show he overstayed his permitted time in Thailand by more than 1,200 days.
After the arrests, authorities transferred all suspects and seized items to Khan Na Yao police station for further legal proceedings.
