Two men repeatedly punched "Ngao Phayak," a ONE Lumpinee boxer, while he was in his pickup truck. They have surrendered, raised their hands in apology, and claimed they acted in a moment of anger after being abruptly cut off while driving.
CCTV footage from the Chiang Mai-Hang Dong road captured a shocking incident at about 20:16 on 26 Oct 2026. A white JAECOO electric car cut in front of and blocked a bronze-gray Isuzu pickup. Then two large men got out and relentlessly punched the pickup driver inside the vehicle. Even though the driver tried to flee, the men chased and struck the vehicle again before returning to the electric car, making a U-turn and leaving as if nothing had happened.
It was later revealed that the injured victim was Anucha Paisanpana, 27, known as "Ngao Phayak Adson Patong," a famous Muay Thai fighter from Chiang Mai who has competed in ONE Lumpinee. He suffered a split eyebrow requiring five stitches, a cut lip with four stitches, and a broken front tooth. He filed a police report at Chiang Mai City Police Station, explaining the cause was likely the assailants' displeasure at being cut off near Big C Mae Hia, as he was rushing to a doctor due to back pain. Despite lowering his window and raising his hands in apology, the others ignored him and attacked.
The latest update: at 16:00 on 28 Oct 2026, the two suspects, Apinan, 32, and Wittaya, 34, both from Samut Songkhram province, surrendered to Pol. Col. Prachya Thisla, superintendent of Chiang Mai City Police Station.
During interrogation, both suspects confessed to assaulting Anucha, or Ngao Phayak. They said they acted out of sudden anger and frustration after being abruptly cut off while driving. Later, they apologized by raising their hands in a wai gesture and shook hands with Anucha to express remorse for the incident.
Anucha, or Ngao Phayak, said he was satisfied that the assailants admitted their fault and apologized. Negotiations over medical expenses and compensation for lost fighting opportunities will be arranged. Meanwhile, he requested the legal process to proceed accordingly.
Initially, the investigators at Chiang Mai City Police Station charged both suspects with "jointly assaulting another person causing bodily or mental injury" to pursue legal proceedings.
