Raid on Kanchanaburi River Raft Party Arrests Film Fa Khlong Luang for Drug Use Eight Test Positive

Officials from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 7 raided a river raft in Kanchanaburi, tracking “Film Fa Khlong Luang” from Pathum Thani celebrating a birthday with drug use. Several items were seized, eight tested positive in urine tests, and those involved were taken into custody for legal action.

At 21:30 on 31 Oct 2026, officials from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 7, under the leadership of Mr. Peeraphong Ramphungjit, Director of ONCB Region 7, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Opas Wonghong, Director of ONCB Region 7 Task Force, coordinated with Ms. Waritta Sanguansermsri, Governor of Kanchanaburi Province; Mr. Wutthipong Supakwanich, Deputy Governor; and Mr. Sombun Phansombun, District Chief of Mueang Kanchanaburi. Security forces from Mueang Kanchanaburi District, along with volunteer defense force members, police investigation units, border patrol police, ONCB Kanchanaburi, Mueang Kanchanaburi Police Station, the Internal Security Operations Command of Kanchanaburi, and intelligence from the 9th Infantry Division, jointly conducted a raid on a drug party on a tourist river raft along the Khwae Noi River, Village No. 1, Nong Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province.

This operation stemmed from a tip received via the ONCB hotline that a group of youths and tourists from Pathum Thani Province had rented a river raft to hold a birthday party, during which they were allegedly using various illegal drugs. Authorities planned and launched a raid to investigate.

As officials revealed themselves and began the search, partygoers on the raft panicked and tried to flee. Some attempted to discard drugs into the river to destroy evidence, but authorities managed to control the situation. Two suspects were found in possession of drugs: Mr. Nopwit Chimwangthong, aka “Film Fa Khlong Luang,” 34, from Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, with seized evidence including 6 yaba pills, 0.76 grams of ketamine, 4 ecstasy pills, and 1.42 grams of powdered ecstasy; and Mr. Kiattisak Phukhang, 34, also from Khlong Luang District, with 6 yaba pills and 0.51 grams of crystal meth seized.

Additionally, all 14 party attendees were subjected to urine drug testing, which found 8 individuals with drugs in their system (indicated by purple urine). Among them, 2 suspects face drug possession charges along with the seized evidence, while 6 others voluntarily agreed to enter the legal drug rehabilitation process.

Initially, authorities detained all suspects along with the seized evidence at the Mueang Kanchanaburi District Office to record the arrests before transferring them to the Mueang Kanchanaburi Police Station for strict legal prosecution.
