In Bueng Kan, local authorities raided an illegal pub found operating without a license, allowing 36 underage patrons under 20 years old, the youngest being only 12. They are preparing to recommend the governor order a 5-year closure.
At 01:30 on 1 Nov 2026, Woraphan Chamniyan, Bueng Kan provincial deputy governor, along with Wutthichai Chaipuminart, Mueang Bueng Kan district chief, Police Major General Phankrit Wichachiwint, commander of Bueng Kan Provincial Police, and Danudet Jaisri, Bueng Kan provincial prevention officer, led local administrative officers, the Bueng Kan Provincial Narcotics Suppression Center, Territorial Defense Volunteers, and police from Mueang Bueng Kan Police Station to inspect Rich Club, located at No. 313, Village 10, Bueng Kan subdistrict, Mueang Bueng Kan district, Bueng Kan province.
The inspection revealed that the establishment sold food, alcohol, and beverages, featuring live music and a DJ playing until 03:00, qualifying it as a service venue under the law but operating without a license. Additionally, 36 minors under 20 were found using the services, with the youngest only 12 years old.
Officials also found suspected drug-like substances on the floor and conducted urine tests on staff and patrons to detect drugs. The results showed no drug use detected.
Initially, authorities arrested the manager and supervisors, charging them with operating without a license, illegal sale and advertising of alcoholic beverages, exceeding permitted hours, selling alcohol to minors under 20, and other related offenses. The suspects and evidence were handed over to Mueang Bueng Kan Police for legal proceedings. Evidence will also be compiled to propose that the Bueng Kan provincial governor issue a 5-year closure order for the venue.
