The Economic Crime Suppression Division ordered the freezing of 18 bank accounts linked to the Good Deeds Foundation, tracing financial flows totaling about 102 million baht. "Bum Panadda" and "Got Athip" deny all charges. Police have scheduled a press briefing for 7 Nov 2023.
On 6 November, Pol. Maj. Gen. Tadsapoom Jaruphat, commander of the Economic Crime Suppression Division, revealed that after arresting Ms. Panadda Wongpudi, known as Bum, and her husband Mr. Athip Anantawan, known as Got, and conducting searches at four locations earlier that morning, police are currently collecting all evidence from the searches. They plan to categorize the evidence this afternoon. Initially, both suspects continue to deny all allegations.
Police have initially frozen 18 bank accounts bearing the names of Ms. Panadda, Mr. Athip, and other individuals connected to the Good Deeds Foundation to investigate financial transactions totaling approximately 102 million baht.
Regarding the investigation into accounts and financial flows possibly linked to the foundation’s vice president and board members, who would be considered secondary figures, police have gathered some information and are collecting further evidence. However, they are currently focusing on prosecuting the two main suspects first.
Mr. Athip, Ms. Panadda’s husband, currently faces only one charge: conspiracy to launder money. Regarding fraud charges, police have not found evidence linking him; he appears only as a beneficiary.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Tadsapoom stated that an official press conference will be held tomorrow, 7 November, at 10:00 a.m.
Further updates will be provided in due course.
