"Boom Panadda" will enter prison without requesting bail, while "Got" was denied bail by the court due to damages exceeding 900 million baht and fears of witness tampering and flight risk.
On 7 Nov 2026 GMT+7, after the Economic Crime Suppression Division filed the first detention request with the Criminal Court for Mr. Athip Anantawan ("Got"), suspect number 1, and Ms. Panadda Wongpudi ("Boom"), chairperson of the Ong Tum Dee Foundation and suspect number 2, under detention request case number F.3012/2569.
After the detention process was completed, Mr. Athip, suspect number 1, submitted a request for temporary release during this detention stage.
The Criminal Court considered the severity of the charges and case circumstances as per the detention request. The actions of suspect number 1 affected the public, with over 900,000 donation accounts reported as victims from the underlying money laundering offense, causing damages estimated at over 900 million baht. There are reasonable grounds to believe that if suspect number 1 is granted bail, he may interfere with witnesses and evidence, which would obstruct and harm the investigation. Additionally, both the investigators and victims opposed bail. Therefore, the court denied suspect number 1’s bail request.
The court issued a detention order directing correctional officials to take Mr. Athip into custody at Bangkok Remand Prison.
Regarding Ms. Panadda, suspect number 2, she did not wish to request temporary release today. The court is preparing a detention order to have correctional officials transfer her to Central Women’s Correctional Institution.
